If you have any questions concerning the Public Rooms in VFK, reading through these frequently asked questions should help.
What are NPC's?
NPC's (Non-Player Controlled characters) are not real people. They are computer controlled characters that work in the public rooms and give out credits daily if you visit their room. They also can interact with you if you speak to them. For more information on NPC's, see the NPC's FAQ.
Can I work in a Public Room?
No, the Public Rooms are fully staffed at present. Characters like Miss Claira, Mister Ned, Mr. Smith, Miss Solaria and Leyla are not real people so they can work tirelessly around the clock for the benefit of all the players.
What are Public Rooms?
Public rooms are ones that are open to everyone. They do not belong to individual players.
Each one of the Public Rooms has a purpose. They may be a store, such as the Mercantile, or Autumn Imports; a game room such as Audubon's Wildlife Adventure game; or just a place to visit and chat with friends like the Garden or the Victorian Summer Park.
You can see the public rooms when you go to the maps or walk around VFK. Not all public rooms are shown on the maps.

Can I get free items from the NPC's?
Each NPC will give you credits once a day when you visit them. They will ask if you want to receive your credits for the day, however, you must respond politely. Saying "Please" and "Thank you" will enable you to collect your credits. The NPC's may not respond to you if you are rude.
If you say rude things to the NPC or try to get them to respond to inappropriate questions, your account may be suspended.
I see people in my garden out the door of my log in room. Is my garden a public room?
Yes, the garden outside your log in room is a public room where players often gather and chat. Often the Garden is the first public room that a new player will see, so it is important to be welcoming and friendly when you are in the garden. To go back to your log in room from the garden, just enter back into the door of the house.
Are the maps public rooms?
Yes, the maps are not only a way to get around VFK quickly by walking over the name of the location you would like to visit, but also a place where you can gather and chat with other players. Remember that in any public room, it is important to use good manners and be considerate of other players.
